Purpose
- To have overall responsibility for the secondary school Economics and Business Studies curriculum at International School of Zurich North.
Key Accountabilities
- Experience of teaching both GCSE and A-Level Economics and / or Business Studies is essential.
- To seek to achieve the highest standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
- To lead the development and review of stimulating, creative and well-resourced schemes of work which inspire intellectual curiosity and develop academic rigor whilst being in tune with the needs and abilities of all students.
- To pay close attention to curriculum developments and changed with the relevant examination boards.
- To line mange the one other member of the department.
- To contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct.
- To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and student/colleague wellbeing.
- To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy.
- To engage in safeguarding training when required.
Person Specification
- Qualifications
An economics / business degree and related teaching certificate. - Skills
Strong organizational skills.
Proven track record of high standards and expectations.
Competence and confidence in the use of IT / Microsoft 365. - Experience
Experience of teaching both (I)GCSE and A-Level Economics and / or Business Studies.
Experience of strategic planning.
