The 2nd annual SGIS Symphony Orchestra Festival took place on 30 January - 1 February 2025. Hosted by Institut Le Rosey, the event brought together nearly 90 students from 8 international schools across Switzerland for three days of musical collaboration.
The final concert - in Le Rosey’s incredible concert hall - featured eight pieces conducted by teachers from the different participating schools. The musicians were amazing ambassadors of their respective schools - listed below - throughout the festival, imbuing the ensemble with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. In addition to this incredible orchestral experience, our young musicians were treated to a 40-minute Q&A with world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma, as well as tickets to his performance of Schumann’s Cello Concerto with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. All in all, a truly inspirational weekend of musical experiences for our students and teachers. Bravo!
