SGIS COLLABORATIVE GROUP SUPPORT

Creating opportunities for collaboration and connection

Creating opportunities for collaboration and connection

Each year SGIS allocates funds to support Collaborative Groups that operate within the SGIS schools community. Funds are managed by the SGIS Board and reported on each year at the AGM.

  • Each year each group can apply for a contribution of CHF 500 to support a face-to-face meeting for group members.

  • Applications are also welcome for other funding to support an entire event or as a contribution towards the costs of an event.

In both cases the Collaborative Group’s nominated representative should contact Frazer Cairns (fcairns@isl.ch) the SGIS Board member responsible.

For more extensive funding the intention of the process is not to be overly bureaucratic whilst ensuring that limited funds are spent wisely and prudently.  In deciding on the distribution of funds, the SGIS Board uses the following guidelines:

The event:

  • is in line with the objectives promoting collaboration and connection between colleagues

  • is additional to the professional development that would normally be part of an individual school training budget

  • is based around subject matter that clearly meets an identified need and adds value to the professional development of the group involved.

  • represents effective use of funding

If you are an SGIS member and interested in becoming a member of a group, or you would like to help lead an existing group or develop a new group, please contact Frazer Cairns (fcairns@isl.ch)
