WHO WE ARE
Collège du Léman is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious international day and boarding schools, located on the edge of Lake Geneva in view of the Swiss Alps. The school helps students to find their place in the world by inspiring individual growth, academic excellence, and global citizenship. It is an international community with more than 120 nationalities amongst the 1800-day and 250 boarding students. They come together on a green, village-like campus covering 8 hectares.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE 
You will support and encourage students, helping them enjoy and make the most of the learning opportunities the school offers. You will be teaching Biology to High School students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the school’s mission and vision by assisting students, both day and boarding, to discover and develop individual strengths, make powerful, lifelong global connections, and be their best selves.
  • Contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive learning environment in which students can flourish, ensuring that each student’s health and well-being are given the necessary priority.
  • Embody and promote Collège du Léman’s RISE values of Respect, Internationalism, Spirit, and Excellence
  • Use and develop the existing resources to teach Biology in the Anglophone High School.
  • Teach Biology in the High School, including. 
  • Supervise Extended Essays in Biology within the IBDP programme.
  • Act as a Pastoral Advisor.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, NOT AN OPTION

You should possess a relevant university degree in Biology and a teaching qualification. It is imperative that you have previous experience in teaching Biology in English, as well as a strong command of the language. Additionally, you must demonstrate the ability to use and integrate educational technology effectively into the curriculum, enhancing the learning experience for students.

Furthermore, you are expected to work closely with a team of dedicated colleagues and maintain a positive rapport with students, characterized by a firm yet empathetic and fair approach. 
In addition, you should be adept at managing tight deadlines, displaying strong organizational skills to meet the demands of the position effectively. These qualities, combined with a commitment to excellence in teaching are fundamental for the successful candidate in this role.
Preferred qualifications for this position include previous experience in an international school setting as well as teaching IB and IGCSE Biology.

CONDITIONS
The position needs to be filled by January 2024 at the latest, possibly earlier. This is a full-time position. 

It is important that the post holder is always aware of Child Protection guidelines and observes a professional distance from students whilst still developing effective working and caring relationships.
